SOCIETY The Red Cross society, which was formed last week under the auspices of the Greater Medford club, will meet every Tuesday morning in the high school building, beginning next Tuesday, May 30. Anyone interested in the work is asked to cooperate by joining, even if they cannot work. The "first aid" class, which has just been formed, will meet on the same day in the same place at 11 o' clock, when Dr. Conroy will lecture to those wishing to take the course. These meetings are held in the same place, merely as a matter of convenience, and those interested in the Red Cross work need not take the lectures unless they wish to. The junior prom which was give at the Seventh company armory Monday evening, celebrated the closing of the school year in Medford and was a very delightful affair. About fifty couples were in attendance. Japanese lanterns and class colors were orange and black, used in decorations. The pantomime which was given the first part of the evening, titled, "The Romance of Roberta," and "Diamond Dick's Revenge," was very much enjoyed and very cleverly arranged. The seniors' banquet at the Hotel Medford Friday evening was a pleasingly gratifying success in all its details. Covers were laid for sixty-five, including seniors, juniors, alumni, teachers and a few friends. The tables were decorated with the senior class colors, red roses and green foliage interlaced in artistic tracery. Inspiring music gave zest to the dances between the courses. Claire Seely was toastmaster and proved an adept in that line of entertainment. Toasts were responded to by Francis Bennett, Stewart Torney, Eugene Narregan, Miss Kentner, Judge Withington and Gus Newbury. It was an event of more than usual good cheer throughout, and all who participated and enjoyed the abundant hospitality of the seniors will long remember it as a wholesome affair and one of the most pleasing school events of the year.
