Hinze took first in the 400-meter race with a time of 59.88 seconds, while Florendo’s mark of 134-04½ was tops in javelin. Megan Hueberger finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.94 and Brook Jaentsch took third in the 400 (1:00.67) and second in high jump (5- 04). Andrea Eide set a personal best in the 200 with a fifth-place time of 26.26. The women’s 4x100, made up by Hinze, Emily Dunn, Hueberger and Eide, took second with a time of 49.49. Advertisement The 4x400 team (Eide, Jaentsch, Hueberger and Hinze) also finished second in 4:00. On the men’s side, Tyler Nitzke grabbed second in the 400 with a time of 48.81, while Sean Peterson finished fourth in the 1,500 in 1:01.31. Women’s Tennis SOUTHERN OREGON 5, SHASTA COLLEGE 4 — At Redding, Calif., Southern Oregon improved to 5-1 with a forfeit-aided, 5-4 victory over Shasta College. The Raiders won the final two singles’ matches and final doubles’ match by forfeit. SINGLES — Tami Weidert, SOU, def. Marie Thompson, 7-5, 6-4; Tiffany Painter, SC, def. Amy Hurlocker, 6-4, 7-5; Mary Polly, SC, def. Katie Ketchum, 6-4, 6-0; Kristina Tallon, SC, def. Jillian Miller, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5; SOU won final two matches by forfeit. DOUBLES — Weidert-Hurlocker, SOU, def. Thompson-Polly, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2; Painter-Tallon, SC, def. Ketchum-Miller, 6-7, 2-6; SOU won final match by forfeit.
