I happen to know from my regular commutes that it’s not the only pothole in town, too. Shouldn’t the city be fixing these, or is there some advantage to letting potholes grow? — Sam B., Medford Well, Sam, cities’ public works departments handle potholes, and most cities don’t pay staff to Cruise-and-Patch. It’s totally complaint driven. So complain. The Medford Public Works Department has a "quick-response team" and you may have seen the little white Quick Response trucks zipping about town. They aim to respond within 24 hours. Advertisement If you know of a pothole on Medford streets, call 774-2600, and leave the location of the pothole and your contact number (in case "Volkswagen-sized" is an exaggeration and crews have a hard time locating it). Call Jackson County Road Services at 774-8184 if it’s on a Jackson County road. For potholes in other cities, call the appropriate public works department. It pays to complain.
