The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10 a.m. today through noon Saturday. The coverage area extends from east Medford through Phoenix to just south of Ashland. Winds from the south are expected to reach speeds of up to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph, the advisory said. Weather officials recommended that residents secure loose materials that could blow away, and drivers should exercise caution, especially on Interstate 5.
