Police seek teen who robbed man Suspect used gun at a Medford ATM By JIM DAVIS Medford police are searching for a teenager who robbed a man at gunpoint outside of a bank's automatic teller machine late Monday night. The boy made away with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as the victim's wallet and its contents, said Medford police Lt. Tim George. "I think the most alarming thing about this is the suspect who is listed as a teenager who has a handgun," George said. The robbery occurred about 9:30 p.m. Monday at the Bank of America at 222 W. Main St. in Medford. The victim told police that he was withdrawing cash from the ATM when the teenager walked up to him. The teenager asked for a handout and the victim refused. Then the teenager pulled a handgun from inside his Dallas Cowboys NFL jacket and demanded the cash that the victim had just withdrawn. The victim watched the teenager run away for a short distance and then get on a chrome BMX bicycle. The boy was last seen riding south on Grape Street from Eighth Street. Police said the description of the robber in this case is different from description of the person involved in a series of robberies last month. George said Medford police have seen few problems with robberies at ATMs. "These are pretty few and far between," George said. "However, I think you should always be cautious when you go anyplace by yourself at night. The boy was described as Hispanic, 14 to 17 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He had short black hair on the sides and was wearing the Cowboys jacket as well as a red and white baseball cap.
