Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend September 29, 2005 Emergency Services Felony arrests Identity theft — Jennifer Marie Henney, 29, of the 100 block of Ball Road, Eagle Point. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday arrested Henney on six counts of identity theft and three counts of computer crime. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she remained late Wednesday in lieu of $45,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 600 block of West Linn Road, Eagle Point. A sheriff’s deputy Wednesday took a report in which items valued at $2,600 were stolen from a garage. Burglary — 6300 block of Highway 227, Trail. A sheriff’s deputy Wednesday took a report in which items valued at $1,000 were stolen from a residence. Theft — 1100 block of East Villas Road, Medford. Medford police Wednesday took a report in which a scanner, television/DVD player and radio were stolen from a truck. The total value of the items was $780. Fire calls Grass fire — Jackson County Fire District 3 crews Wednesday responded to a small grass fire along Interstate 5 near milepost 38. The 11:01 a.m. fire was sparked by a truck that was towing another car. At some point, the towed car lost a rear wheel, causing the bottom of the car to drag on the highway and throw sparks, District 3 Capt. Mike Calhoun said. The sparks ignited a .25-acre grass fire in the area between the freeway and Foley Lane. Both District 3 and the Oregon Department of Forestry dispatched two engines to the scene. The fire was extinguished within minutes after their arrival, Calhoun said. Crews shut down the slow lane heading southbound for about 20 minutes until the fire was under control, Calhoun said.
