SOCIETY The faithful band class of the First Baptist church held their regular monthly business meeting and social at the home of Rev. F. W. Carstens. Officers for the ensuing six months were elected as follows: President, Fidelas Moran; Vice-president, Laura Tonts; secretary, Olive Redford; corresponding secretary and reporter, Octavia Childs. After the adjournment of the business meeting, the remainder of the evening was spent in social chat and games. Dainty refreshments of wafers and punch were served. The Medford Choral Society will resume rehearsals for the fall and winter season, commencing on Tuesday evening September 5 in St. Mark's Hall. Mr. George Andrews, Musical Director, has selected some new music for the study of the society. It is expected that a number of new members will join the society and all who desire to do so are urged to be present at the first meeting when arrangements will be made for their admission to the society and an even beginning will be made by all in the study of the new music. The society has already established a record and an even better success is anticipated in the near future. Constant and punctual attendance of all members is necessary to the successful work of the society. A very pretty wedding took place Friday at noon at the home of Rev. J. C. Rollins when Miss Maybelle Daniels, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Daniels of this city, became the bride of Ray Offenbacher of Ruch. After the ceremony, dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, only immediate members of the family being present. The bride is a graduate of the Medford high school, while the groom is a prosperous young farmer. After a short trip to northern California they will make their home on the Applegate. The marriage comes as a surprise to their many friends, who wish them happiness and prosperity.
