The Raiders are now 2-1 at the national tournament, and need a win in today’s pool play finale to move on to the NAIA quarterfinals. Southern (28-7) used a balanced attack to down the Grenadiers, who had been eliminated from bracket contention heading into the match. Senior Kristin Ferris and freshman Jaclyn Hamilton-Smith each tallied 11 kills while sophomore Rachael Baran added 10. Junior setter Jamie McCreary was effective in all aspects, with match-highs of 36 assists and 15 digs as well as a .958 serving percentage. Kristin Lilly turned in another solid defensive effort with 14 digs and 29 receptions. Jennifer Mobbs led Indiana Southeast with 13 kills, but the Grenadiers were hampered by 27 errors to only 18 by SOU. Advertisement The Raiders held an opponent under .137 in attack percentage for the second straight match. SOU held Lee (Tenn.) to .133 in a monumental three-game upset of the nation’s No. 2-ranked team on Wednesday night.
