Butte Falls holds off Hosanna All five Butte Falls starters scored in double figures and the Loggers staved off a rally by Hosanna Christian for a 76-66 win in Skyline A League action. Isaac Stephenson, Nick Rodgers and Tyler Hersom each scored 15 points and Kelly Harrington and Tony Beals added 11 apiece to pace the Loggers, who improved to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in Skyline A play. Using a pressing defense and transition offense, Butte Falls opened the game in high gear as the Loggers stormed to a 23-11 first-quarter lead. Butte Falls kept up that pressure for a 45-27 halftime edge. "Our pressure forced quite a few turnovers and we were really running by them on our transition," said Butte Falls coach Lance Bruce, whose team had only six turnovers in the game. Butte Falls built its lead to 23 points in the second half before Hosanna Christian mounted a comeback behind the play of Jeremy Chronister, who led his team with 25 points. Thanks to a slight lack of focus by the Loggers, Hosanna trimmed its deficit to six points with four minutes to play. "They made a heck of a run in the second half," said Bruce. "We took two bad shots with no one underneath to rebound and turned the ball over twice and that led to eight points for them right there." After calling a timeout to regain their composure, the Loggers closed out the game with more steady play. Stephenson iced the contest by going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final two minutes. Stephenson also finished with seven assists, while Rodgers had 10 rebounds and Hersom pulled down six boards.
