Emergency services, March 8 Wednesday Mar 8, 2017 at 12:05 AM Felony arrests Note: Bail amounts were not immediately available at press time. Drugs — Levar Christopher Handy, 25, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Handy Monday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on warrants for failing to appear in court on four previous counts of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Monday and released Tuesday because of overcrowding. Drugs — Bradley Lewis Maerz, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Maerz Monday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft. He was booked in the jail Monday and released Tuesday on his own recognizance. Vehicle Theft — Valerie Valine Vargas, 33, of the 6900 block of Pico Drive, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Vargas Monday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday because of overcrowding. Drugs — Jose Antonio Garcia, 26, of the 1000 block of Mt. Pitt Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Garcia Monday on a felony charge of possessing heroin, and on warrants for failing to appear i court on previous charges of first-degree theft, possessing methamphetamine and interfering with police. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday because of overcrowding. Drugs — Tania Marie Boyd, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Boyd Monday on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and heroin, felony warrants for possessing meth, warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of first-degree burglary, meth possession and second-degree theft and on out-of-county warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of second- and third-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday because of overcrowding. Drugs — Joshua Gordon Bowman, 44, no known address. Medford police arrested Bowman Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on misdemeanor charges of felon in possession of a restricted weapon and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday  because of overcrowding. Drugs — Samantha Paige Gairson, 22, of the 2700 block of East Antelope Road, Eagle Point. On Tuesday, Gairson made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on her own recognizance. Drugs — Rex Roddy Johnson, 45, of the 10000 block of Blackwell Road, Central Point. On Tuesday, Johnson made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance. Burglary — Jessie Samuel Arguelles, 27, no known address. Medford police arrested Arguelles Tuesday on a felony charge of second-degree burglary and a misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. He was lodged in jail Tuesday. Drugs — Richard Dean Garote, 22, no known address. Oregon State Police troopers arrested Garote Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing heroin, a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police about a vehicle and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing heroin, second- and third-degree theft and driving while suspended. He was lodged in jail Tuesday. Drugs — Melinda Jonelle Kershner, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Kershner Tuesday on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and heroin, and on out-of-county warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing meth and heroin, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. She was lodged in jail Thursday. Drugs — Anthony Charles Dukart, 23, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Dukart Thursday on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and heroin, and on a felony warrant for possessing meth. He was lodged in jail Tuesday. Crime reports Theft — 400 block of King Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 7:55 a.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included an HP Envy laptop, a makeup bag, blue Beats headphones and prescription medication. The loss was valued at $2,652. Theft — 3100 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in and theft at 9:25 a.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included 25 DVD movies, a blue Coleman canopy, miscellaneous clothing and bedding and a Craftsman took kit. The loss and damage to the vehicle window was valued at $1,125. Theft — 100 block of Oregon Terrace, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen blue bike at 10:37 a.m. Monday. The  loss was valued at $3,500.
