The Comets (0-10, 0-3 MWL) and Highlanders (1-9, 1-2) were tied at 1 at halftime. Crater's score was the result of an own goal by North Eugene. The Highlanders tallied the go-ahead goal around the 60th minute. Crater goalkeeper Orfanel Aguirre submitted a strong effort. The Comets’ goal was their second of the year. "It was a close game," Crater head coach Fernando Juarez said. “I was happy with the effort.” Girls Soccer NORTH EUGENE 8, CRATER 1: At Central Point, Alisa Whitney scored in the 72nd minute for Crater during Midwestern League play. Her goal for the Comets (1-7-3, 0-3 MWL) came from 22 yards out after she dribbled past several defenders. Crater trailed 4-0 at halftime. Volleyball CHURCHILL 3, EAGLE POINT 1: At Eugene, Kylene Briggs had nine kills and 20 digs for Eagle Point as Churchill won the Midwestern League match, 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 2513. Megan Ayres recorded 18 assists, 15 digs, eight aces and three blocks, Ryleigh Gainey eight kills and 13 digs and Michaela Morris 25 digs for the Eagles (2-12, 1-7 MWL). HOSANNA CHRISTIAN 3, BUTTE FALLS 0: At Butte Falls, Hosanna Christian dominated much of the Mountain Valley League match en route to a 25-15, 25-22, 25-16 win. Butte Falls (8-5, 4-2 MVL) was held to one four-point run, which came in the second set with Jade Stubbs serving. Raleigh Weaver had eight kills against Hosanna Christian (17-2, 7-0).
