Regional bank reports strong growth in '98 Bank of Southern Oregon reported strong growth in 1998, with assets up 11 percent to $146.8 million. The publicly-held regional bank said loans increased more than 7 percent to $99.5 million and deposits were up nearly 6 percent to $126.6 million. The bank's equity rose to $13.8 million, up $1.618 million for the year. In 1997, its equity rose $1.778 million. Bank of Southern Oregon liquidity was also strong, with cash and short-term investments of more than $42 million or 28.9 percent of its assets.
