The Raiders (3-18, 2-8 CC) surged to a 33-26 first-half edge, but the Warriors (15-6, 7-2) cut the margin to 33-29 at the break as a result of a 40-foot buzzer-beating heave by Jessica Steigleman. Steigelman went on to score 14 of her game-high 22 points in the second period, and the 6-foot freshman forward also compiled seven assists, five steals and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Andi Peterson led the Raiders with 21 points, while junior post Kailee Short grabbed 12 rebounds and scored eight. Former Phoenix High star Kat Cox scored 11 and hauled in six rebounds. Advertisement Southern’s 10-for-33 second-half shooting (30 percent) coupled with WBC’s 48-percent overall efficiency (33 of 69) doomed SOU to its fifth consecutive setback.
