Hodapp, playing with Dennis Poncia and Steve Wood, hit his driver and 5-wood to complete the hole. Scott Lusk, the course’s head pro, estimated there have been only five double eagles on the hole in the past 25 years. June Trurnit of Medford earned her third hole-in-one in 17 years of playing golf Oct. 1 at Quail Point Golf Course. Wielding a 5-iron on the fourth hole, Trurnit bottomed out from 115 yards away. Fellow Rogue Valley Manor resident Betty Root was Trurnit’s witness. Bowling Medford’s Jerome Lee won the first Southern Oregon Seniors tournament of the new season at Tsunami Lanes in Crescent City, Calif., on Sept. 22. Lee scored a 224 game in the finals to take out Albany’s Curtis Dornath , who finished with a 211, and claim a $550 prize. In the semifinals, Lee bettered Walt Lundgren’s 239 game with a 248. Mick Prulhiere , of Grants Pass, was the high qualifier with a 1,031-pin total. Melissa Eilenberger rolled a 702 series in the Invitational League at Medford Lanes on Sept. 30. Eilenberger bowled games of 223, 235 and 244. She maintains a 211 average.
