Prospect Charter closes classes for grades 4-8 By Kevin Opsahl Updated: Oct 12, 2021 03:57 PM A A Prospect Charter School announced it has closed in-person learning for its fourth- through eighth-graders for the rest of the week. The school made the announcement on its Facebook page late Monday, citing a “high volume of sick students,” recent COVID-19 cases, close contact exposures and staffing issues. Its pre-kindergarten through third-graders and ninth- to 12th-graders were not affected by the recent developments, the Facebook post read. Prospect asked families not to worry about whether their child has a positive case of the coronavirus if they were not contacted directly by the school. Prospect said families that don’t have internet access to use Google Classroom for virtual learning should contact the school. Players for Prospect’s middle school football and volleyball teams would hear from their coaches about this week’s practices, the Facebook post read. A middle school volleyball game and football practice went on as planned Monday, according to the social media post. Middle school football games would be played as planned, but parents would need to provide transportation.
