Hersom leads Butte Falls to victory Hersom came up with two critical steals and hit the winning shot as the Loggers had to rally for a 51-49 victory against Triad. Butte Falls (7-3, 1-0 Sky A) trailed the Timberwolves by six points with about two minutes left in the game. "Our defensive intensity wasn't there until the end," Butte Falls coach Lance Bruce said. "We got some turnovers and got some easy buckets in transition." Hersom, a 6-foot-3 senior post, made two steals in the waning minutes, then sank an interior shot with 20 seconds remaining to give Butte Falls a 51-49 margin. Triad junior point guard Mark Kroeker, who tallied a game-high 20 points, missed a game-tying attempt with six seconds to go and Butte Fall's Kelly Harrington got the rebound to preserve the victory. Harrington, a sophomore wing, contributed 13 points and six rebounds.
