North girls beat KU despite losing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles Tennis roundup North Medford won its fourth straight Southern Oregon Conference match Tuesday despite losing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. North's Jenny Brown lost a three-hour match to Allison Wilson of Klamath Union, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) in the No. 1 singles matchup of two talented freshmen at Bear Creek Park. Wilson is the top-ranked girls 14-and-under junior player in the Pacific Northwest Section of the United States Tennis Association. "It was a great match," said North Medford coach Dale Jensen. "Jenny hadn't won a set from her before, so she's gaining on her. She proved to herself she can play with her today." In No. 1 doubles, Amanda Wilson and Dana Buchanan of Klamath Union teamed to topple North's doubles team of Christie Brawner and Ali Mostue, 6-1, 6-4. SINGLES -- Allison Wilson, KU, def.
