SOU men, women romp past nonconference foe Bethany Thursday Jan 4, 2007 at 2:00 AM Dec 19, 2010 at 3:00 AM ASHLAND & 8212; Junior Matt Pizzola scored a career best 11 points Wednesday night as the Southern Oregon University men's basketball team cruised to an 82-53 victory over Bethany University at McNeal Pavilion. Ben Krasowski added 11 points to help the Raiders improve to 10-7. SOU used a 12-3 run, sparked by a 3-pointer and layup from Krasowski, to pull away for a 30-18 lead in the first half. The Raiders dominated the second half, pushing their lead to 29 points as Pizzola tallied seven in the second stanza. Southern Oregon heads back to Cascade Conference play Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. game at Oregon Tech. Senior Kelsey Richards added 12 points and freshman Jackie Speer added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Chelsey Zimmerman added 10 points while also adding a new career high of 12 assists to move her into a tie for third place on the school's all-time assist mark.
