GUN CLUB : The Medford Gun Club, 1259 E. Vilas Road, is open for trap and skeet shooters every Sunday and Wednesday. Action begins at 10 a.m. Sundays and 5 p.m. Wednesdays. RADIO-CONTROLLED CARS : Races for radio controlled cars are held on Sundays at RC Speed Center, 2810 N. Pacific Highway, Medford. Gates open at noon for practice. Sign-ups close at 12:30 p.m. Entry fees are $5 first car and $4 for the second car. Entry fee is $4 for those 15 and under. Spectators are admitted free. Races also are held on Thursdays. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Entrance fee is $5 for racers 16 and older; $4 for those under 16; and $4 for a second car. The track is also open for practice. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Fee is $1 for every 2-hours of practice. Call 779-8298. CHESS CLUB : The Medford Chess Club meets from 2-6 p.m. every Sunday at Pappy's Pizza, 2550 Crater Lake Highway, Medford. STEAM TRAINS : Medford's Railroad Park opens to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the second and fourth Sunday of the month from April though October. Operated by the Southern Oregon Live Steamers, the trains give free rides to all. It's at Table Rock Road and Berrydale Avenue. Here's a schedule: Mondays, 7:30 p.m.: bull's-eye pistol shooting; Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m.: junior small bore rifle shooting; Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m.: senior small bore rifle shooting; Thursdays, 7 p.m.: practical pistol shooting, silhouette and high-power shooting. BRIDGE : Duplicate bridge is played at 7 p.m. Mondays and noon Fridays at Bellview Grange, 1050 Tolman Creek Road, Ashland. Swiss team play is scheduled on the fourth Monday of each month.
