Jonasson nets singles victory for S. Oregon SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- It took a little while, but Judy Jonasson finally was able to shake off her rust in helping Southern Oregon upend Dominican College, 8-1, in women's tennis action Friday. Jonasson, who missed SOU's recent trip to Arizona for a tournament, stormed to a 6-1 win in the opening set before falling 1-6 to Maria Castellucci to tie the match. Jonasson won the third set 6-4 to gain the No. 1 singles victory. "Judy hasn't played matches for several weeks and she felt a little rusty, but she adjusted and found her own form," said SOU coach Gail Patton. "In the end, both of them were getting a little fatigued, and I think Judy played more tactical tennis toward the end to win the match." Jonasson and teammate Anne Endrikat fell behind early in their No. 1 doubles match before regrouping for an 8-5 victory. SOU improved to 7-1 and will take on Mills College today in Oakland.
