County's Kelly Madding is new Medford deputy city manager Tuesday Mar 28, 2017 at 5:24 PM Mar 28, 2017 at 5:24 PM After reviewing 147 applicants, the city of Medford announced Tuesday it has selected Kelly Madding, who was development services director for Jackson County, as its new deputy city manager. Madding will replace Bill Hoke, who was terminated in December. Madding has been development services director for the county since 2006. She also served as the economic and special development director for Jackson County, director of Talent Urban Renewal, and was city manager for Talent and Rogue River. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Oregon and undergraduate degree in Political Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  City Manager Brian Sjothun said Madding will oversee the city's development services department as well as urban renewal, transportation, the parking district and economic development. She also will be working on the city's urban growth boundary amendment. "Her extensive background in development services along with public management experience will be a great addition to the city of Medford team," Sjothun said in a prepared release. Madding will assume her new role with the city of Medford on May 1.
