Although originally scheduled to run Friday and Saturday, rain delays forced an extra day of competition. Eliminations are wrapped up in top alcohol dragster and top alcohol funny car, with eliminations in all other classes to continue at 9 a.m. today. In top alcohol dragster, Federlin, the No. 4 qualifier, earned his second trip to the winner’s circle this season and his fourth final-round appearance in division competition. He came into the weekend leading in the chase for the division TAD title. Federlin ran 5.481 seconds at 257.26 mph in the final round to beat Mitch Myer of Hermiston. Austin, the defending division top alcohol funny car champion, increased his season points total with another victory. The Fife, Wash., racer has two prior wins this year and was the No. 1 qualifier at this event. Austin made a 5.710-second, 247.02 mph pass in the final to beat Dennis Taylor of Anaheim, Calif.
