SOU drops Concordia ASHLAND - Southern Oregon University's men's basketball senior night isn't until today, but Concordia University couldn't tell the difference in the Raiders' 72-60 Cascade Conference victory at McNeal Pavilion Friday night. SOU seniors Hamilton Barnes, Jeff Tacheny and Matt Zosel each paved the way as the sixth-place Raiders (12-15, 8-9 Cascade) captured their sixth straight home win and second consecutive overall. Barnes tossed in a game-high 24 points, while Tacheny added 19 points and Zosel had nine rebounds for the Raiders. SOU caps the home season slate tonight against 17th-ranked Western Baptist, which knocked off 22nd-ranked Oregon Tech, 83-80, in Klamath Falls on Friday. Women's Basketball WESTERN BAPTIST 83, SOUTHERN OREGON 80 - At Salem, Southern Oregon's seven-game win streak came to a halt as junior forward Kara Magee-Arick's 3-pointer was off-target at the buzzer. SOU was paced by junior point guard Sara Marks, who scored 23 points on 11-of-19 shooting. Marks, the reigning NAIA national player of the week, scored nine straight to bring the Raiders within one, at 81-80, with 10 seconds left.
