A Jackson County grand jury Thursday indicted 40-year-old Andrew Caucutt on a laundry list of burglary, theft and other charges stemming from crimes committed from Ashland to Eagle Point. Medford police also have 10 similar charges pending against Caucutt. Investigators say Caucutt would scour construction sites at night, making off with everything from rugs and a microwave oven to tools or items as small as doorknobs. He then would trade the items in exchange for things as cheap as a pack of cigarettes, police said. Advertisement No arraignment was scheduled, and Caucutt, who is free on bail, will be informed of the charges. Meanwhile, investigators are trudging through the task of matching victims with more than 80 items recovered from a search of Caucutt’s residence last month. The Central Point Police Department, which is the lead agency of a multi-agency team of officers pursuing the case against Caucutt, will hold two viewings of the seized property next week. From 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, contractors and others who suspect they may be among Caucutt’s alleged victims can pick through the recovered items that will be laid out at the Central Point police storage units at 399 S. Fifth St. "There’s so much stuff to take out and display that we had to pick two days to do it," Central Point police Sgt. Charles Newell said Thursday. Victims should bring police reports detailing the items stolen from them, and any identified items that match the reports can be taken home, Newell said. Those who cannot make the viewings can stop by the city’s police department between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to view photographs of the items, or they can leave copies of their police reports and a clerk will try to identify their property, Newell said. The grand jury indicted Caucutt on four counts each of second-degree burglary and one count of first-degree theft. Medford police are awaiting grand jury proceedings during which their charges will be heard for a possible indictment. The Medford charges connect Caucutt to burglaries and thefts from construction sites on Juniper Ridge Drive and Key Drive in Medford, Medford police Lt. Tim George said.
