The Challengers (53-13-2) will have to post two victories today to win the title. Butler allowed seven hits and struck out 10 to run his record to 6-0 on the season. Eugene broke through in the fourth after the teams played three scoreless innings. Scott Nelson opened with a double, went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Kyle Boettger and scored on Austin Brushett’s single. The Challengers added two more runs in the fifth on A.J. Norris’ third home run of the season and a RBI single by Brushett. Roseburg trailed 5-0 when it scored its only runs on Ben Cooper’s RBI double and an RBI single by Ryan Savage in the bottom of the sixth. Norris went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to pace Eugene. Brushett, Cody Newell and Casey Nagler each contributed three hits for the Challengers.
