Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend January 30, 2006 Since You Asked Greenway path work will start this week Several weeks ago the Mail Tribune had pictures of damage on the Greenway from Bear Creek flooding. Is the Greenway now open for its entire completed length? If there are closures, where are they? How soon will they reopen? — Liz N. Liz, you’re in luck. Greenway managers expect the two small sections of blacktop damaged in the Talent area to be fixed in the next few days (as of Jan. 26). As a temporary fix the old blacktop will be removed and crushed granite will be put down. Jackson County is waiting for the Federal Emergency Management Agency to come here to assess the damage, potentially providing money to pay for repaving. The Greenway also had considerable damage done to shoulders on either side of the blacktop path. In addition, there is construction work at a bridge on West Valley View Road in Talent where the trail has been intentionally ripped up. The work on the trail and bridge should be done by this fall.
