In the first game, St. Mary’s used sixth-inning doubles by Claire Crawley and Brianna Williams to score two runs to tie the game. But Lakeview won the opener 4-3 in the eight innings, then the Honkers completed the doubleheader sweep by blasting the Crusaders 20-5 in five. Williams’ double scored two runs in the sixth to knot the score at 3-all. The Crusaders (8-8, 1-7 SCL) tallied their first run in the third when Tauni Main singled and came all the way around to score on the hit because of an outfield error. Advertisement Darcey Simms limited St. Mary’s to two hits in the shortened nightcap. The Crusaders hits came on Crawley’s first-inning double and a single by Shalane Wilson in the third. In the second game, St. Mary’s made six errors and issued 14 walks. Justine Hix of Grants Pass carded a 76 for the low individual round. North Medford had all four players shoot 96-or-under, with Kacie Kinney registering an 81 for the low round for the Black Tornado. The host Hornets posted the low team total of 321 at Shield Crest Golf Course. St. Mary’s placed third (339) just one-stroke behind runner-up Modoc, Calif. Corkill fired a 74, while Keating and D.J. Track and Field CHILOQUIN INVITATIONAL — At Chiloquin, Cascade Christian’s Nate Lee posted two individual victories and helped the Challengers’ boys to a third-place finish in the five-school meet. Lee won the 1,500 with a mark of 4 minutes, 31.54 seconds and the 800 in 2:10.49. Other Cascade Christian winners were Jordan Burchfiel in the discus (123-6) and Michael Clark in the 300 hurdles (44.14). The Challengers ran second-third in the 110-hurdles with Ben Cummings edging Clark for second. Both runners were timed at 19.60. Jordan Ockunzzi finished second for Cascade in the 400 (54.52). In girls, Cascade Christian’s 4x400 relay team was victorious. The Challengers best individuals were third-place finishes by Lindsey Schlafli in the 800 (2:42.28) and Christina Muswieck in the 200 (29.17). Cascade’s 4x100 relay team finished third (55.82).
