Driver dies in early morning crash on I-5 By Local report May 30, 2018 10:06 AM A A Oregon State Police say a man died in a crash early this morning near the Interstate 5 Blackwell Road exit north of Central Point Troopers were dispatched to a report of a crash at about 1:55 a.m. today. According to OSP, a preliminary investigation showed a white 1992 Ford Ranger pickup was traveling north at a high rate of speed, when it drove onto the right shoulder along the Exit 35 off-ramp. The vehicle traveled on the gravel shoulder before rolling. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Exit 35 northbound off-ramp was closed for about three hours. OSP said the driver will be identified after next of kin are notified.
