Get Up & Go: April 1 Sunday Apr 1, 2018 at 2:01 AM Sunday, April 1 Pear Blossom Run: Register for the 42nd Annual YMCA Pear Blossom Run happening April 14, in downtown Medford. There will be a 10-mile race, a 10-mile handcycle or wheelchair race, a 5K race and 1- and 2-mile fun runs. Registration is $30, $23 or $8 for the 10-mile, 5K and fun runs, respectively. Registration will be $40 for the 10-mile and $33 for the 5K after April 8. Proceeds benefit YMCA’s programs for low-income kids, teens, families and seniors. Ashland Rotary Easter Egg Hunt: The Rotary Club of Ashland presents its annual Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 1, by the tennis courts in Lithia Park along Winburn Way. Families are encouraged to arrive early. The hunt will be over in a minute or two. Kids in age groups of 2 and younger, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 years old will hunt for more than 3,000 Willamette Egg Farm eggs boiled and dyed by Southern Oregon University dining hall staff, candy and two golden eggs good for special prizes. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos. Car Club: The Stray Cats Car Club of Jacksonville meets for coffee, donuts and vintage cars at 9 a.m. Sundays in the parking lot of Ray’s Market, 401 N. Wednesday, April 4 Bird Walk: The Rogue Valley Audubon Society has a new location for its free first-Wednesday bird walks. The walks begin at 8:30 a.m. at Denman Wildlife Area and end before noon. The slow-paced walk covers about 1.5 miles. In this ongoing citizen-science project, the numbers of different species observed by walk participants are entered in the Cornell Ornithological Laboratory’s eBird database.
