Medford police arrested Long Saturday on a charge of possession of amphetamines. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Saturday night on $5,000 bail. Theft — Kevin James Gallo, 21, of the 2200 block of College Way, Medford. Medford police arrested Gallo Saturday on warrants charging him with first- and second-degree theft. He was lodged in jail, where he remained until he posted cash on $15,000 bail Saturday afternoon. Warrant — Phillip Timothy Thomas Jr., 45, of Chicago. Central Point police arrested Thomas Saturday on a fugitive warrant from Illinois. He was lodged in jail without bail. Drugs — Shannon Shasta Clymer, 33, no address listed. Medford police arrested Clymer Saturday on charges of possession of amphetamines, a fugitive warrant from California and warrants charging probation violation. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Saturday night without bail. Robbery — Susan Marie Byrd, 39, of the 1700 block of Spring Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Byrd Saturday on charges of third- degree robbery, third-degree theft, possession of heroin, two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct, providing police with false information about a crime, and warrants charging her with failure to appear on theft, attempted theft and providing false information to police charges. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Saturday night on $47,000 bail. Warrant — Gary William Washbek, 49, no address listed. Medford police arrested Washbek Saturday on a fugitive warrant from California charging him with possession of dangerous drugs. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Saturday night without bail. Warrant — Nickole Jean Switzer, 22, no address listed. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy arrested Switzer Saturday on a fugitive warrant from Montana charging her with felony negotiation of a bad check. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Saturday night without bail. Crime reports Burglary — 2700 block of Falcon Street, White City. A sheriff’s deputy took a report of a burglary in which $1,000 worth of household goods were reported stolen. No details on the items were available in preliminary police reports. Burglary — 6500 block of Blackwell Road, Central Point. A sheriff’s deputy took a report of a burglary in which a pistol valued at $500 was reported stolen. Burglary — 500 block of Walnut Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a burglary in which a computer and 15-inch flat-screen monitor were reported stolen. The items had a total estimated value of $900. Injury accident Motorcycle accident — Interstate 5 northbound at milepost 27. Oregon State Police responded to a report of a motorcycle driving into the back of a Ford Expedition near the Barnett Road exit at about 3:30 p.m. The motorcyclist was thrown into a concrete barrier by the collision and taken by ambulance to Providence Medical Center, Trooper Bill Matson said. Police declined to release the man’s name but said he was cited for careless driving. Matson said a hit-and-run accident in which one vehicle rear-ended another had occurred earlier in about the same place as traffic slowed through a construction zone. A group of people were displaying flags on the overpass, but state police weren’t sure if the possible distraction had contributed to the crashes. Medford police said they didn’t have any problems with the patriotic rally.
