PCF is equipped with a Thermo Fisher Lumos mass spectrometer with an nanoflow Ultimate 3000 HPLC, a Thermo Fisher Ascend mass spectrometer with a Vanquish NEO HPLC, and an Agilent 6545XT Advance Bio LC/Q-TOF System. 

PCF seeks to provide high quality proteomics services on intact Protein molecular weight measurement; protein identification; protein quantification using label-free or labeled approaches; identification of PTMs including phosphorylation, acetylation, ubiquitination, glutamination and disulfide linkage characterization. PCF also develop methods for unique projects. 

PCF staff also train users on instrument operation, educate users on mass spectrometry-based techniques, stay informed on new techniques and devices, and make them available to PCF users when possible. 

From 08/2023 to 08/2024, PCF supported more than 30 investigators within and outside NINDS, worked on more than 50 projects, co-authored in 7 papers listed below.
