is in the Highway 62 corridor where such treat ments have been considered as part of the
overall corridor im provem ent strategy . Transit signal priority treatm ents can m ake transit
service more attractive to riders by increasi ng its reliability through reductions in travel
time and m issed transfers.
In designing and constructing im provem ents to the arterial and
collector street system , the City should incorporate transit-
supportive components that prom ote pedestrian connectivity ,
convenience, and safety , along with operational com ponents to
enhance transit vehicle m ovem ent.
• Working in partnership with RVTD to address the
planning and developm ent of future transit service within
the Medford UGB, including sharing costs of survey s,
studies, and research needed for long range planning.
• Working with RVTD to ensure that transit transfer
stations and park-and-ride facilities are accessible by
pedestrian, bicy cle, transit, and motor vehicle travel
modes, including provisions for secured bicycle parking,
passenger loading, and taxi service.
• Work with em ployers to increase com muter transit
ridership through employer-based incentives, such as
subsidized transit passes.
