--> --> July 18: Ashland to host Babe Ruth tourney Ashland Daily Tidings Southern Oregon Babe Ruth all-star teams are going to hit Ashland this week, taking part in the District 4 All-Star Tournament. Ashland will host both the 13-year-old and the 14- and 15-year-old tournaments starting Thursday and running through Saturday. The 13-year-old tourney will feature teams from Ashland, Phoenix-Talent, Medford, Upper Rogue and Central Point. The 14- and 15-year-old tourney will have teams from Ashland, Central Point, Phoenix-Talent and Medford. Both tournaments will be held at North Mountain Park. The 14-15 tournament will be played at the varsity field, while the 13's will play on the smaller practice field. Action kicks off Thursday at 3 p.m. with Upper Rogue taking on Central Point in 13-year-old action, while Central Point tangles with Phoenix-Talent in the 14-15 year-old bracket. Both Ashland teams will play their first games at 6 p.m. Thursday, with both teams taking on Medford. Phoenix-Talent has a first-round bye in the 14-15 bracket and will play its first game Friday at 6 p.m. Ashland's 13-year-old team is coached by Steve Dodds. The squad features Matt Bianca, Robby Bruce, Brendan Chapman, Wes Dodds, John Goldberg, PJ Harper, Greg Harvey, Jason Lefever, Aaron San Nicolas, Shawn Ray, Sam Littleton, Griff Sollinger, Dylan Steeves and Robert Woodward. Robert Bruce and Don Ray are the assistant coaches. The 14-15 squad is coached by Scott Nelson. The team is comprised of Matt Bolstad, Jason Coburn, Aaron Decker, Ben Dodds, Tyler Fieguth, Chad Hegdahl, Steve Jorgensen, Josh McDermott, Arron Nelson, Chris Presicci, Rocky Reeser, Jesse Richards, Brian Ross, Mike Tucker and Micah Weston.
