Since You Asked: Nothing 'on the front burner' for Barnett Road property Sunday Oct 9, 2016 at 11:01 PM I'm curious about the property that used to be Molly Murphy's on East Barnett Road. It was for sale and the For Sale sign has been down for months. Are they ever going to do anything with that property? — Cindy J., Jacksonville Over the years, Mick's Ale House, Sand Piper and Streams, to name a few of the more popular operations, have occupied the 6,959-square-foot restaurant at 1841 E. Barnett Road that, according to county records, was built in 1955. Molly Murphy's is just the most recent in a long series of restaurants that have come and gone. For some reason, the location has fallen out of favor. The last business license issued to Molly Murphy's was in 2008. From time to time the property, which is spread over multiple tax lots, has been on the market, but no deals have been struck since. The last recorded deal for the property was the acquisition by Investors IV for $849,500 in 2001. The property is owned by the family of Medford City Council member Daniel Bunn. Back in 2010, during the bottom of the recession, the property was on the market for $1.95 million. Bunn says there's nothing actively being considered right now, but the family is checking on its options because it "would like to develop it someday." But, for now, he says, "We don't have anything on the front burner." — Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
