The Panthers (5-0) will take on tournament host Red Bluff tonight at 8:30. In what had been a back-and-forth contest, Carroll hit a 3-pointer to give South Medford a six-point lead with 44 seconds remaining. Their lead was cut to two following a Nevada Union free throw, a Panthers turnover and an ensuing 3-pointer by the Miners. Carroll put the rally to rest by making 4 of 4 free throws down the stretch. Carroll was 8-for-12 from the field and 5-for-8 on 3-pointers. He also had six rebounds while his teammates, Raymond Benford and Dakota Metcalf, chipped in eight points apiece. NEVADA UNION (51): D. Wrestling SOUTH MEDFORD WINS TWO: South Medford beat Sheldon 42-40 and South Eugene 72-6 in a four-team dual hosted by the Panthers. North Medford’s junior varsity also participated. South Medford’s Caleb Roberts needed just 45 seconds to pin Sheldon’s Calvin Roome in the 106-pound weight class, while Daniel Cavanaugh (113 pounds), Braden Maloney (145), TJ Roberts (152), Cole Schumack (160), Ryan Beck (170) and Hayden Evans (195) also had pins. Against South Eugene, the Panthers won 13 matches by forfeit. In the lone match, the Panthers' Issac Antley pinned South Eugene’s William Holt in 3 minutes, 21 seconds at 182.
