Free tax assistance offered around valley Low- and moderate-income residents can get free tax preparation at sites around the Rogue Valley. The Tax Aide program, sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons Foundation, began Monday and runs through April 15. Volunteers trained in cooperation with the IRS are available to prepare taxes. Those seeking help should bring their financial records and a copy of last year's tax returns. Appointments are available. Here are the locations and times for the program: Medford : Lions Sight and Hearing Center, 228 N. Holly St., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 4 p.m. Medford Senior Center, 510 E. Main St., by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Call 772-2273. ACCESS Inc., 3639 Aviation Way, by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. Call 779-6691. Ascension Lutheran Church, East Barnett Road and Black Oak Drive, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays and Fridays. Central Point : Central Point Senior Center, 123 N. Second St., by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Call 664-4933. Jacksonville : Jacksonville IOOF Hall, South Oregon and West Main streets, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. White City : Building 209 of VA Domiciliary, Highway 62, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
