Duffie takes annual Art Pollard Memorial May 24, 2009 12:00 AM A A WHITE CITY — John David Duffie held off Frank Word III to post a wire-to-wire victory in the Art Pollard Memorial pro stock feature at Southern Oregon Speedway Saturday. Duffie was challenged by Butch Poppa early in the race. Duffie and Word, who were the top two in the point standings last year, battled for the lead the rest of the way. Darin Morris finished third and Dave Yochum was fourth. The sprint car A main, Todd Zeitler just edged out Garren Linder for the checkered flag. The race got off to a rough start when Philip Delrosa and Seth Nunes both flipped their cars. Neither driver was injured. Tony Christopher won a hard-fought victory in the super four feature race. Terry Hadley, who started 10th, moved up to second by the third lap to challenge Christopher throughout the race. Hadley finished in second, Krista Hadley was third and Parker Jones placed fourth. Jim Pope won the mini stocks feature race with a top speed of 57 mph. Dan Borror finished in second and Bob Burkett in third.
