Dream Awake Art Gallery is at 103 Talent Ave. Representational paintings in watercolor and acrylic by artist and owner Michael Eberhardt will be displayed. The Evening Shades The progressive rock and pop band — Markus Thales, Sammy Kovic, Matthew Tayvis and Justen Nielson — will perform songs from its 2015 album "Alright" and more at 6 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Roxy Ann Winery, 3285 Hillcrest Road, Medford. Admission is free. See www.roxyann.com or call 541-776-2315. 'The Rumpelstiltskin Project' and 'Spin Out' Ashland Children's Theatre puts a twist on the Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale. Look for a miller's daughter, a greedy king, an alchemist, a bragging father and some culinary trolls in this story with a few surprises along the way. Simple joys and generosity save the day, and straw is spun into gold. "Spin Out," a short companion piece, brings together characters from multiple fairy tales to spin more tales. The plays are written and directed by Eve Smyth and celebrate the talents of young actors age 7 through 16. Performances are set for 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at The Dance Space, No. 10, 280 E. Hersey St., Ashland. Advance tickets are $10, $5 for kids, and are available at Tree House Books or Music Coop. SOU Chamber and Concert Choirs Southern Oregon University's choirs will present "And the Light Became Sound" at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, in the Music Recital Hall on the SOU campus, 405 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. The choirs will perform music by composer Tomas Luis de Victoria. The chamber choir will perform selections from his "Missa Pro Defunctis," and the concert choir will perform his "O Magnum Mysterium." The choirs also will perform music by Eric Whitacre and others. The Concert Choir is directed by Daniel Kocurek, and the Chamber Choir is directed by Paul French. Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors, and can be purchased online at oca.sou.edu/boxoffice , at the box office inside the SOU Music Building or by calling 541-552-6348. 'One Night Only' at Oregon Cabaret Theatre "A Lovely Lineage," singer Kristin Towers-Rowles' one-woman musical tribute to her show business heritage, will be presented at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. Towers-Rowles is the granddaughter of Kathryn Grayson, the actress and soprano who worked for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the early '40s and established a career working in musicals. Towers-Rowles' grandfather is Broadway veteran Johnny Johnston. Her parents also are in show business, as is her brother, Jordy Towers, who recently signed with Interscope Records. Towers-Rowles will perform songs from MGM and Broadway favorites. Jennifer Schloming will accompany on piano. Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased at the box office or by calling 541-488-2902. Tickets will be $18 at the door.
