Tully wowed the Britt audience with her 2003 performance. This time she will join the Britt Orchestra to play the Brahms Violin Concerto. Tickets for the 2005 Classical Festival go on sale to Britt members Dec. 1 with early-bird discounts of $2 until Feb. 15. Reserved seats range from $18 to $34, and most shows have lawn seats for less than $20. Call the box office (1-800-882-7488 or 773-6077) or visit www.brittfest.org for artist, repertoire and ordering details. Cellist Lynn Harrell will visit the Britt stage for the first time Aug. 6. The Grammy winner will be featured soloist with the orchestra on two works: Faur�’s �l�gie and the Cello Concerto No. 1 of Camille Saint-Sa�ns. Chamber music lovers may want to pencil in Aug. 8 for the recital by the Arianna String Quartet at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall in Ashland. Hailed as one of America’s Top 10 chamber ensembles, the quartet was recently appointed Faculty Artist Teachers and Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Missouri. Advertisement Aug. 12 will be an evening of Russian music with Lithuanian pianist M�za Rubackyt� performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. On Aug. 13, a special Orchestra All-Stars concert will spotlight four members of the Britt Orchestra. Concertmaster Ignace Jang will play the "Vitali Chaconne," principal cellist Naomi Barron will perform Dvorak’s "Silent Woods," and principal bassoonist Erich Heckscher will be joined by second bassoon Philip Gottling to offer Concerto in F for Alto Recorder and Bassoon by Telemann. Back for a return engagement is England’s Kevin Hathway with "The Elastic Band Returns," a program of family fun, Aug. 14. Hathway put on one of the most popular family concerts ever at Britt a few years ago. Portuguese guest conductor Alvaro Cassuto will be joined by pianist Barbara Nissman for a Britt premiere of Liszt’s "Totentanz" on Aug. 19. Cassuto will also showcase the Britt Orchestra in a performance of Berlioz’ "Symphonie Fantastique." The final program of 2005 will bring violin virtuoso Leila Josefowicz to perform the Beethoven Violin Concerto on Aug. 20. Britt’s full season schedule, which runs from early June to mid-September, will be announced March 17. Tickets will be on sale to Britt members from March 23 to May 8. Britt Festivals also plans to present a handful of concerts at the new 5,900-seat Lithia Amphitheater at the Jackson County Expo.
