(c) The guidelines for regularization of unauthorized colonies were
initially finalized by the Government in February, 2001 and fiied in Delhi
High Court in connection with CWP No. 4771/1993. The guidelines
were subsequently revised in February, 2004. The guidelines provide
the policy framework for regularization including the cut-off date, eligibility
criteria for regularization, the applicability of development control norms,
etc.
Setting up of FM Radio Stations
“6. SHRI 8.3. PANDA:
SHRI RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD:
Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased
to state:
(a) whether Government propose to allow around 330 private radio stations
in the near future;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(6) how far this would help in generating additional employment
opportunities?

(511२1 5. JAIPAL REDDY): (a) and (b) A total of 336 Channels in
90 cities will be made available for bidding in Phase ll of FM radio
broadcasting through private agencies. The details are given in the
Statement (See Below).
(c) The expansion of FM radio service through private agencies is
expected to generate both direct and indirect employment. The employment
would be in the form of manpower engaged for programme production; in
setting up of broadcasting infrastructure; for maintenance of equipment
and other ancillary services. Indirectly, additional employment will be
generated in equipment manufacture, advertising services and outsourced
content production.
