--> --> Beaver, Hodges lead Grizz boys to non-league win LEBANON - The Ashland High boys soccer team remained perfect in the preseason with a 3-1 victory at Lebanon. Senior all-stars Jesse Hodges and Scott Beaver teamed up from five yards out for a 1-0 lead at the 32nd minute and Beaver's second goal in as many games. Beaver answered again minutes later. Junior midfielder Matt Sharp set up the score after heading the keeper's clearing kick. Beaver sprinted for the ball and fired from 15 yards out. The Lebanon keeper got a hand on the ball, but it wasn't enough to deny the shot. Hodges capped the scoring for the Grizz by connecting from 20 yards out to make the score 3-0. The Warriors added a late score when a shot bounced off the crossbar and into the net. Even though Ashland outshot Lebanon 29-13 and 8-1 in corner kicks, head coach Eisa Tiaa Toutou still sees room for improvement. "We weren't aggressive enough," he said. "We weren't running to the ball, especially in the first half. We need to put more focus on our transition game." Ashland (2-0) travels to North Salem Saturday.
