The victim suffered single stab wounds to his left arm and back. He was taken by ambulance to the Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment. The suspects fled on foot down the Bear Creek Greenway bike path. They were described as white male juveniles, one wearing a red ski cap and the other wearing a dark shirt and jeans. The case remains under investigation. Theft — First block of the Mount Ashland Ski Road, Ashland. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies took a report at 11:40 a.m. Monday of the theft of video equipment valued at $2,000. Felony arrests Drugs — Jesse James Brown, 22, of the 800 block of 14th Avenue, White City. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies on Monday arrested Brown on felony weapons charges as well as possession of amphetamines and three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. Forgery — Alex Ross Tower, 20, of the 1000 block of Jolisa Street, Medford. Tower made his initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree forgery and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was processed Monday at the Jackson County Jail, then released on his own recognizance. Drugs — Brian Whitton, 37, no address available. An Oregon State Police trooper on Monday arrested Whitton on charges of possession of amphetamines and second-degree theft. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $9,000 bail. Assault — Melanie Lynn Oberg, 24, of the 600 block of Ivy Street, Medford. Medford police on Monday arrested Oberg on a charge of felony fourth-degree assault. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, then released on bail. Miscellaneous Mental hold — Medford police responded to a report of a scuffle between two men in a car at 7:35 a.m. near Howard Elementary School. One Central Point man was taken into custody on a mental hold. Michael Johnson, no age available, of the 2300 block of New Haven Road, was referred to the Rogue Valley Medical Center for evaluation. Police said the scuffle occurred in the 200 block of Mace Road because the victim was trying to get mental-health assistance for Johnson.
