Programs should include incentives for walking, biking, carpooling, and using public transit. If the City wanted to include commuting in a ZEV as well, it could, but that is not the main purpose of this program recommendation. Incentives for employees participating in alternative commuting could include raffle entries for an e -bike or similar, or other prizes provided by area businesses; enhancement of the existing fitness incentivization program to include alternative commuting methods involving fitness; additional paid time off (PTO) and/or vacation time; and cash/pay incentives.
